Geoff Johns’ Superman Comic Gets New Variant Covers – IGN

Usually when DC announces a new series of themed variant covers (as with last week’s Flash 75 announcement), the promotion includes a wide variety of comics in a single month. But DC’s newest variant cover theme will focus on one specific series. Geoff Johns and John Romita, Jr.’s Superman series will begin featuring a new variant cover theme starting with this week’s Superman #35 and lasting through March’s Superman #40. Each of these variant covers will spotlight an iconic team-up between Superman and another DC hero that Johns has written over the course of his DC career.

We have an exclusive look at the variant covers for Superman #35 and #36:

Superman #35 cover by Mike McKone

Superman #36 cover by Francis Manapul

In addition to these covers, DC has revealed that Superman #37 will feature a Superman/Green Lantern team-up by Ethan Van Sciver, while Superman #38 will see Lee Moder pair Superman and Stargirl (the star of Johns’ very first DC project).

Superman #35 will be released on Wednesday, October 22.
