Despite its $872.7 million global box-office haul, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has earned its fair share of detractors, who argued that the film was convoluted and unnecessarily dour. Among those critics was someone long associated with the Dark Knight, voice actor Kevin Conroy.

The animation and video game veteran, who’s voiced the Caped Crusader for nearly 25 years in projects ranging from “Batman: The Animated Series” to “Justice League Unlimited” to “Batman: Arkham Knight,” explained his main problem with the Warner Bros. film boils down to own issue.

“Personally I love the fact that Batman — in the stories I’ve done … he never kills anybody,” he told IGN.”He doesn’t cross that line. Batman is not a killer.”

Conroy said he “loved that fact,” and admires the “Arkham” video game series because it explores that attribute.

“In the most recent live-action movie, that seems to have been a line that was crossed,” he said, “and it’s not one I’m particularly comfortable with.”

By at least one count, Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight killed 21 people in “Batman v Superman.”
